Lungs are affect in 90% of cases -> Upper lobe and bronchovascular bundles are affected.
Who is affected by sarcodosis the most?
Young, Females, African-American
Present b/w 20-40 years old
Disease with noncaseating granulomas.

Pathoneumonic for Sacrcoidosis. Violaceous rash on face, nose, lips and forehead.
Fever, Erythema nodosum, migratory polarthralgia, bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy
Lofgren syndrome -> seen in people w sarcoidosis
Heerfordt’s syndrome
Uveitis, parotid enlargement, chronic fever. -> seen in sarcoidosis
What are the signs of sarcoidosis?

Treatment for sarcoidosis
Stage I -> self-limiting NSAIDS
Stage II &III-> corticosteroids or methotrexate, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine
Stage IV-> lung transplant
What treatment is used in refractory sarcoidosis?
Infliximab or adalimumab
Key CXR finding in sarcoidosis?
Bilaterl Hilar lymphadenopathy
Key serum finding sarcoidosis?
Increased ACE, Calcium and vitamin D
Mining, quarrying, stonework, foundries
High risk for silica inhalation = silicosis
