16
Q

What is plasma?

A

It’s the yellowish liquid portion of the blood that transport ions, soluble nutrients, CO2 and hormones in the blood cells

17
Q

What is red blood cells?

A

Carry oxygen from your lung to heart than to muscle
Helps to remove CO2
Contain Haemoglobin which combines with oxygen
no nucleaus and a concave shape to give space for oxygen

18
Q

What is the white blood cells?

A

Part of the immune system
Protects the body from infections
They can engulf the pathogen and phagocytes destroy it from the inside
Lymphocytes makes anti-bodies to fight of infections

19
Q

What is a platelets?

A

Helps the glood to clots if you get hurt
Prevent pathogens and blood lost
Fibrin molecules was made and have a mesh like structure
Red-blood cell get trapped in the mesh creating a clot

20
Q

Which enzyme breaks down starch and what does it break down it into?

A

Amylase, breaks down into maltose

21
Q

Why does our body needs carbohydrates?

A

It has starch and sugar, which is the neccessary components for respiration in our body. As a result, we are able to have energy to run around all day.

22
Q

Why do our body needs water?

A

It’s needed for chemical reactions to take place in solution, also waste chemical are passed out through our body as a form of water like faeces, urine and sweat.

23
Q

Why do we need fibre?

A

It helps the movement of food in the alimentary canal, also absorbs poisonous waste from bacteria in our gut, fibre helps to reduce the risk of heart disease and bowel cancer.
