A

We studied Mount Niryagongo volcano. The heat from the lava flow made approximately 120,000 were made homeless. The volcano destroyed the agricultural land which resulted in the loss of fertile land decreasing the ability of the area to produce crops. Approximately 150 people died from the lava as it travelled around 30-40mph down the sides of Mount Niryagongo. Approximately 400,000 people fled the country.

A

Hurricanes occur when the sea temperature is above 30°C. In the Caribbean in areas such as Jamaica. They also occur along the South-East Coast of the USA, affecting areas such as Florida. Typhoons are found in South East Africa across the Indian Ocean, including Coastal India and Bangladesh.
