Environmental Control System (ECS) Flashcards
What provides Cooling and Heating to the crew stations
Cooling from ECS
Heating from Bleed air from Engines and APU on start up
Where is cooling air always supplied to?
EFABS, PNVS and TADS
What do the #1 Vapor Cycle Cooling Systems (VCCS) comprise of?
Forward section of the left and right EFABs, the CPG station, and the TADS/PNVS turret.
What do the #2 Vapor Cycle Cooling Systems (VCCS) comprise of?
Aft sections of the left and right EFABS, and pilot crew station.
What range can individual crew stations temperatures select?
50º to 90º
How can you turn the ECS on and off? Is it crew station dependent?
A/C UTIL page. No, it turns on and off for both crew stations.
How long does the IBIT take for ECS1 or ECS2?
Approx 20 min.
What is ECS primary purpose?
Protect avionics from excessive temperatures.
What cools the Aft left and right avionics bays?
Ambient air only.
What are the components of the ECS in the EFAB?
FWD Evaporators 2x, Compressors 2x, AFT evaporators 2x, and Condensers 2x.
What provides fresh air to each crew station?
Air Particle Separator Blower.
What MPD pages provide ECS status and control?
A/C UTIL, DMS IBIT, and ENG SYS
