What is the Pelagic Zone?
The entire water environmental zone
What is the difference between the Neritic Zone and the Oceanic Zone?
The Neritic Zone is the shallow water above the continental shelf and the oceanic zone is the water beyond the continental shelf
What are the four oceanic zones and their depth?
Epipelagic- 0 to 600 feet
Mesopelogic- 600 to 3000 feet
Bathlypelagic- 3000-9000 feet
Abyssopelagic- 9000 to seafloor (bottom)
What is the Benthic Zone?
The entire seafloor environment
What are the supralittoral, littoral, and sublittoral zones?
Seafloor
Supra- above high tide
Littoral- between high and low tide
Sublittoral- below low tide
What are the bathyal, abyssal, and hadal zones?
Seafloor
Bathyal- continental slope
Abyssal- rise and abyssal plains
Hadal- trenches
How do oceanographers and marine biologists divide marine environments? (Classification?)
