What are the four ways to edit a cell in a worksheet?
- Click into the formula bar above the worksheet
- Double-click on the cell you wish to edit
- Press F2 within the cell you wish to edit
- Navigate to a cell and type over the contents
What is the default behavior of text entered into a cell?
Text will overlap adjacent cells in a given row as needed
What is the maximum number of characters that any cell can contain?
Up to 32,000 characters

Column Width and “Text” Visibility
The amount of visible “text” is constrained or truncated by the width of the column.
Column Width and “Number” Visibility
Unlike “Text”, Numbers are not truncated, but they are replaced with hashtags if they exceed the width of the column.
Tool Bar Status while cursor is blinking inside a cell
Many toolbar features are disabled while cursor is within a cell. Only commands that are applicable to working within a cell are functional.
How do you reactivate all of the toolbar features if you are in cell edit status?
Press enter to jump out of the cell and reactivate full toolbar.
Cells can be updated by….
editing from the formula bar or double clicking the cell and editing within the cell. Also you can press the F2 key or go to that cell and type new text and press enter to replace cell contents.
