to turn inward, or someone who is shy and reserved and tends to keep to himself

to turn outward, or someone who is outgoing
avert
to turn away, to see something coming and avoid it, i.e. avert your eyes!
adverse
turning against what is wanted, especially adverse weather
adversity
conditions that make things harder or turn against you
subversive
trying to undermine (or overthrow) i.e. the government claimed we were subversives or terrorists!
diverse
different; made up of different kinds of things or people, i.e. we need a more diverse curricular to fit the needs of every student.
