Simile
Compare two unlike things using like or as.
Metaphor
Comparing two things that are not alike to suggest they have something in common.
Hyperbole

Giving something unhuman, actual human qualities.

The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities

The expression of one’s meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

Visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work.

An expression of two or more words that means something other than the actual or literal meaning.

a word that is used instead of a noun or noun phrase
Proper Noun
a specific name for a particular person, place, or thing

a short monosyllabic word that is used to define if the noun is specific or not
