In the second story the Zebra is transferred to what in the second. He is young and exotic. Only speaks Chinese and is sad and lonely in the lifeboat.

In the second story the hyena is now a what He is very rude and violent. He kills Pi’s mother and the sailor, then Pi stabs him and he dies.

He is a part of the Maritime Department in the Japanese Ministry of Transport and is now retired. He is trying to discover what exactly happened to the sunken ship.
