SIMPLE SENTENCE
contains 1 main clause/idea, 1 verb and no conjunctions
COMPOUND SENTENCE
two clauses (that could both stand alone) that are joined with a conjunction
COMPLEX SENTENCE
a main clause with an extra subordinate clause (an extra piece of information that is slotted in and bordered by commas), only the main clause can stand alone

a word that modifies or qualifies a verb, adjective or another adverb
PREPOSITION
a word used before a noun which connects it to another word in the sentence, often used to tell you the position of something and to add extra information to a sentence
