What is a noun?
A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. There are common nouns and proper nouns,e.g: the man-Jeffery .
What is a noun phrase?
A noun phrase is a noun with a word in front of it. For example: my dog,this dog.
What is a verb?
A verb is a doing or action word. A verb can have three tenses: present, past and future. For example: i sprinted, he fell.

There are two parts to a verb phrase:
The Main verb-the most important verb of the phrase.
The helping verb works with the main verb to tell the action.
Example: congress has passed many laws.
Has is the helping verb.
Passed is the main verb.
What is an adjective?
An adjective is a word that gives more information about a noun. For example: big house,small garden.
What is an adjectival phrase?
An adjectival phrase is a prepositional phrase which modifies a noun. For example: the lovely house which was situated in the heart of the city.
What is a simile?
A figure of speech involving comparison of one thing with another thing or a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid. For example: as tall as a giraffe, as big as an elephant.
What is a metaphor?
A comparison in which one thing is said to be another. For example: my mother is a teddy bear, my father is a lion.
What is personification?
Where a non-loving object has human characteristics
What is pathetic fallacy?
It is when weather matches a persons feelings.
What is alliteration?
The repeating sounds of the start of words. For example: she sells sea shells on the sea shore
What is colloquial language?
Colloquial language is everyday words and phrases. For example: watcha, gotta.
What is imagery?
visually descriptive or figurative language

Facts are bits of information and statistics are also facts but with numbers involved
Imperative verbs
Imperative verbs are verbs that create an imperative sentence. It is a sentence that gives an order or command.
