A

A

They have bugs crawling on them and eating them alive. They also chase around a banner with no purpose.

What do the punishments in limbo represent?

A

Banner chasing: the souls here lead a useless life not making any decisions on weather to be good or bad. useless life = useless punishment

Bugs: the souls lived as if they were dead. So they have maggots, flys, wasps, and other bugs crawling on them like they would on a bead corpse.

A

A

A girl Dante fell in love with after seeing her once around the age of 9. She died at age 24 and Dante can’t get over her despite being married to someone else.

A

Souls in Lust are forever stuck in a tornado being thrown around without any control. This represents these souls’ tendency to lose control of their emotions.

A

Paolo: has an affair with his sister-in-law, Francesca, multiple times.

Helen: left her husband for another man. They set off the Trojan War.

A

Lancelot was King Arthur’s noblest Knight. He gave in to his lust, and fell in love with King Arthur’s wife Queen Guinevere.

Helen was a beautiful woman who left her husband for another man.The man with whom she ran off with was the prince of Troy, Paris. Her and Paris has combined actions set off the Trojan War.

A

The younger brother of Giovanni has an affair with his sister-in-law, Francesca, multiple times. He ends up dead along side Francesca once is elder brother discovers their affair.

A

This means that once you enter hell you won’t be shown any mercy and will pay for all that you have done. Your fate will depend on the hands of others who are much more powerful than you.

The river of hell is created by Dis’ (Satan’s) tears. As he cries to be released from hell his tears pile up.

Brutus is one of the two people who went against Julius Caesar behind his back and killed him. He is one of the three biggest betrayers in Hell according to Dante

Cassius is who

A

Cassius is another one of the two people who went behind Julius Caesar’s back to try and assassinate him. He along with Brutus and Judas are in Satan’s mouths as this is the punishment for being one of the three biggest betrayers.
