adjective
a word that describes or modifies a person or thing in the sentance.
adverb
a word or phrase that describes or modifies a verb, adjective, or other adverb in a sentance.
coordinating conjunction
a word that connects words, phrases, and clauses.
interjection
a word or phrase used to exclaim or protest or command. They sometimes stand by themselves, but not always.
noun
a person, place, thing, idea, or animal.
concrete noun
nouns that are detectable by the five senses. nouns that can be seen, felt, tasted, smelled, or heard.
abstract noun
nouns that cannot be detected by the five senses.
proper noun
name specific people, places, or things. Are almost always capitalized.
common noun
name everything else, things that are usually not capitalized.
preposition
a word that connects a noun to other words and shows the relationship between them.
ex. in, on, of, with, at, from, for, by, to
pronoun
a word that substitutes for nouns or noun phrases and designates persons or things asked for, previously specified or understood from context.

a word that conveys action, occurrence, or existance
