What does present perfect indicate?
Something that happened in the past before now at a non-specific time. Or something that happened regularly in the past at a non-specific time
This to show something happened in the past before now. So it is related to the present but it shows something that happened in the past.
e.g. Steve has eaten sushi before
Difference between Simple Past and Present Perfect
Simple Past - specifies the time when something happened in the past
Present perfect - does not specify time when something happened in the past
Past perfect
Two actions in the past and we want to show that one action happened before the other
Alan had not studied before he took the test
Future perfect
Two things in the future. One will happen before the other or before a specified time in future:
Before next weekend i will have seen the movie six times
