What are parts of speech?

What is a verb?
A verb is an action word. It is the action in the sentence.
What is a noun?
A noun refers to a SPECIFIC person,place, or thing. (Names of people,places and things)
What is a pronoun?
A pronoun is a word that stands in for a noun, often to avoid the need to repeat the same noun over and over. Like nouns, pronouns can refer to people, things, concepts, and places.
Adverbs
An adverb is a word that modifies (describes) a verb (“he sings loudly”), an adjective (“very tall”), another adverb (“ended too quickly”), or even a whole sentence (“Fortunately, I had brought an umbrella.”). Adverbs often end in -ly
Adjectives
An adjective is a word that describes or defines a noun or noun phrase
Conjunctions
Joining words. A conjunction is a word that is used to connect words, phrases, and clauses
Preposition
word or group of words used before a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to show direction, time, place, location, spatial relationships, or to introduce an object
It is raining when i got home last night
It WAS raining when i got home last night.
I have not ate anything today.
I have not EATEN anything today.
Everyone have seen that movie.
Everyone HAS seen that movie.
I fell asleep while i watched TV
