What is the definition of Plot?
pattern or sequence of events that make up a story.
What is the definition of Setting?
When and where the story was made.
What is the definition of Exposition?
Here the characters are introduced. We also learn about the setting of the story. Most importantly, we are introduced to the main conflict
What is the definition of Initial Incident?
This part of the story is where the initial conflict occurs and the rising action begins.
What is the definition of Rising action?
This part of the story begins to develop the conflict(s). A building of interest or suspense occurs.
What is the definition of Climax?
This is the turning point of the story. Usually, the main character comes face to face with a conflict. The main character will change in some way.
What is the definition of Falling Action?
All loose ends of the plot are tied up. The conflict(s) and climax are taken care of.
What Is the definition of resolution?
The story comes to an ending.
What is the definition of Tone
a literary device that conveys the author’s attitude toward the subject, speaker, or audience of a poem
What is the definition of Mood?
the emotional undertone that an author conveys in a work
What is the definition of Voice?
the emotional undertone that an author conveys in a work
What is a Flashback?
an interruption in the chronological order or timeline of a narrative to give additional information or backstory needed to further the reader’s understanding.

narrative device in which suggestions or warnings about events to come are dropped or planted.
What is a Stereotype?
an expectation that people might have about every person of a particular group.
What is the Conflict?
serious disagreement and argument about something important
