what is a close-up shot?
a type of camera shot size that is close to a person’s face or part of the body and adds emotion to a scene.
what is an extreme close-up shot?
a camera shot that only shows the object’s eyes.
what is a long shot?
a view of considerable distance, so that people appear as indistinct shapes.
what is a full long shot?
a view from an even greater distance, in which people appear as small dots in the landscape if at all.
what is a mid-shot?
a shot that only shows from the object’s waist up.
what is an over-the-shoulder shot?
used to show a conversation back and forth between two subjects. it adds emotion to the scene.
what is a two-shot?
shot of two people together.
what is an point of view shot?
short scene that shows what a character is looking at.
what is high angle?
a filming technique where the camera looks down at the subject from above.
what is a low angle?
a filming technique taken from below the subject.
what is a birds-eye view angle?
an overhead shot is when the camera is placed directly above the subject.
what is an eye-level angle?
when the level of the camera is placed at the same height as the eyes of the characters in your frame.
what is a tilt?
when the camera stays in a fixed position but rotates up/down in a vertical line.
what does dollying mean?
when the camera moves towards, away from, or alongside your subject.
what does tracking mean?
a shot in which the camera physically moves sideways, forward, or backward through the scene.
