Round character
Complex, highly developed, with many traits and Fan girls/boys.
Character
An individual who participates in the action of a literary work.
Flat character
Exhibits few traits, is underdeveloped, and we know very little about them
Dynamic character
One who changes throughout the story
Static character
One who remains the same through out the story.
Direct Characterization
The author directly tells you what the character is like.
Indirect characterization
You find out about a character through their physical appearance, their thoughts, speech, and actions.
Internal Conflict
One that occurs within the character
Conflict
Struggle between opposing forces
External conflict
A character pitted against an outside force such as nature, a physical obstical or another character,
Plot
The sequence of events in a story
Setting
The place of action in a work.
Theme
The underlying message of life or human nature that the writer shares with the reader. Generally it is not stated directly and must be inferred.
Allusion
A indirect reference to a famous person, place, event, or another work.
Diction
A writers or speakers choice of words and way of arranging words.
