“The Fir-Tree” is a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen. It tells the story of a fir tree that, despite its beauty, becomes discontented with its life and longs for a more glamorous existence. In the tale, the tree is cut down and brought into a home, but it eventually realizes that the true joy comes from being content with who you are rather than seeking external validation.

In winter ,when the snow lay glittering on the ground , a hare would often come leaping along , and jump right over the little tree.
