what is a simile?
this is were you compare two/ or more things using like or as. e.g. i am as cool as a cumber
what is alliteration?
it is a series of words that make the same sound or start with the same letter( but must be a composite letter. e.g. betty bought butter
what is juxtaposition?
its when you compare two/or more things/people that are opposites this can be with size, colour, or what they are wherein e.g. worm and a shark
what is lexical chain?
this is where you have a series of works that can relate to the same thing. e.g. SAD - flat, depressed, tears.
what is enjambment?
it is when the point / middle of the sentence stops then ends on the next line below. e.g. i need a
pencil
what is rhyme?
rhyme is where you have words that sound the same in a stanza or a sentence. e.g. bat, mat, sat
what is repetition?
this is where the same text is repeated again on other line in the poem and or in the same sentence. e.g. i need, i need, i need…
what is onomatopoeia?
these are words that express sounds. e.g. boom, bang
what is a metaphor?
this is where you are able to compare two things/people e.g. she is an angle
What Is Anthropomorphism?
this is like personification and this gives animals and or plants human qualities. e.g. the dog is so handsome.
what is personification?
its when you give objects human qualities.
what is a stanza?
this is a group of line/sentences in a poem. e.g.
”"”I’m telling the wrong lies,
they are not even useful.””””

be keys, they would open the door….”””
what is syntax?
this is the arrangement of words/phrases that will create well formed sentences it will need a subject, verb and object. e.g. The boy kicked the ball
what is Assonance
this is like alliteration what using “aeiou” soo that means that it make the same sound and or starts with the same letter “a e i o u”
what is Irony?
this is where a situation there in a contrast between expectation and the reality. e.g. if it were a cold, rainy gray day, you might say, “What a beautiful day!
