Common Noun?
Names a class of things
Pronoun?
A word used in place of 1 or more nouns.
Proper Noun?
Nouns that name a specific person, place, or thing.
Verb?
Expresses action or helps make a statement
Adjectives?
Modifies nouns or pronouns, makes it more definite.
Adverb?
A word modifying a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
Interjection?
A short exclamation like Oh! Um. or Ah! They have no grammatical value but we use them anyway. They’re usually followed by an exclamation mark (!).
Name the Common Nouns====> I added new books to the library.
Books, Library
Name the Pronoun->She opened the fridge to find her pickles.
She, Her
Name the Proper nouns.->Tom visited Caseys to get gas and a monster.
Caseys, monster.
Name the Verb Anna grabbed the bone and chewed on it.
Grabbed, chewed.
Adjective-> She opened her rusty, blue, car, to find an old rubber dog toy.
Rusty, Blue, Old, Rubber
Adverbs-> The dog bit the egg carefully, as he briskly ran to his owner.
Carefully, Briskly.
Interjections-> Wow! Is that a brand new Car?
Wow!
Simile
Compare two things using like, or as.
Metaphor
Compares tow things that aren’t literarily true, without using like or as.
Personifications
Giving nonhuman things human characteristics.
Onomatopoeia
Words that make sounds, like ZAP.
Hyperbole
exaggerated statements that are not meant to be taken literally.
Figure of Speech? The pillow was as light as a feather
Simile
Figure of Speech? Her eyes were diamonds when she looked up.
Metaphor
Figure of Speech? The light danced on the water surface.
Personification
Figure of Speech? The sausages are sizzling on the pans.
Onomatopoeia
Figure of speech? The plane ride took forever.
