What is an Adjective?
A word that describes a noun
Comparative form of adjectives are made by adding what?

Adjective Clause
A type of clause that works to describe a noun in a sentence
Conjunction
A word used to connect clauses or sentences. “FANBOYS” (For And Nor But Or Yet So)
Interjection
Word or phrase used to convey suprise or other strong emotions. (Yikes, wow, what, hey, etc.)
Noun
A person, Place or Thing
Proper Noun
A word that acts in place of a specific noun, must always be capitalized.
Direct Object
A noun phrase that is used to denote a person or thing that is receiving the action the verb.
Indirect Object
A noun phrase reffering to someone or something that is affected by the action of the verb, but is not the primary object.
Subject
A person or thing that is being discussed, described, or dealt with.

A word that replaces a noun

The verb that is being performed in a sentence
Past Predicate
The verb that has been acted upon.
Irregular Verbs/Past Tense
A past tense verb usually ends in -ed, but irregular verbs do not.
Infinitive Phrases
Phrases that include modifiers and/or compliments usually including “to” or “too” in front of it.
Conjugate
Changing a verb so it makes sense in a sentence.

Capitalization
A start of a sentense, a proper noun, or emphasis on an important thing.
Ellipsis
The triple dots at the end of a statement to entail trailing off or a missing part.
Was/Were
“where” is used when there are two subjects, and “was” is used when there is only one.
Analogies
A comparison of two things that share a resemblance.
Denouement
Final part of a play in which the strands of the plot are drawn together and matters are explained or resolved.

A repitition of a sound at the beginning of the words.
Hyperbole
An exaggeration.
Onomatopoeia
A word that represents a sound (Boom, smash, click, creak, etc.)

Giving human or animal qualities to an inanimate object.
Palindrome
A word that is spelled backward the same way it is spelled forward. (racecar, taco cat, level, etc.)
Metaphor
A comparison between two things without using like or as.
Epic
A long poem used to tell the tale of heroic or legendary figures throughout history.
Internal Rhyme
A word that is rhymed at the end of one line, or in the middle of another.
Limerick
A comedic rhyming scheme that is aabba (Syllables are 8-8-5-5-8)
