Round Character
Highly developed character with many traits

Individuals who participate in the action of a literary work
Flat Character.
A character that exhibits few traits, not well developed
Dynamic Character
One who changes throughout the story

When the writer tells you exactly what that character is like

Time and place of the action in a work of literature
Theme
Underline message about life or human nature that the writer shares with the reader. Typically this is not stated directly but must be inferred
Allusion
An indirect reference to a famous person, place, event, or literary work
Diction
A writer or speaker’s words and a way of arranging the words in sentences
Foreshadowing
A writer’s use of hints or clues to suggest events that will occur later in the story
Protagonist
Main character in a work of literature who is involved in the central conflict
Antogonist
The principle character in force in opposition to a protagonist
