What is the start procedure with an air start unit?
Pre op all SE prior to being used
Hook up the power cart and ensure power is available
Hook up the huffer and position it in front of engine 2 with exhaust facing away from aircraft
Make sure the hose is fully laid out with no kinks and no damage to hose
Power up the huffer once notified power is available you will be directed to bleed air to start engine 1
After engine 1 is started the plane captain will direct you to disconnect the huffer and power cart and move both pieces of equipment out of the safety Diamond and bleed air from engine 1 to start engine 2
What type of oil is used to service the engines?
MIL-PRF 23699 Mobil Jet II/Turbo NICOIL
When can you get an accurate oil service reading?
5-30 minutes after engine shutdown
What is the maximum thrust the P-8 can produce per engine?
27,300 pounds
When do you stop servicing engine oil?
When you reach the lower fill mark on the service gauge
What is required to be locked out prior to opening the engine cowling?
Standby hydraulics
