engineering principles Flashcards
What is Pascal’s Principle
Pascal’s law says that pressure applied to an enclosed fluid will be transmitted without a change in magnitude to every point of the fluid and to the walls of the container. The pressure at any point in the fluid is equal in all directions.
how to increase speed with gears
To increase speed you connect two gears, first one has more teeth, this means the second one has to turn faster. the second gear has less force
how to increase force with gears
To increase force the second wheel has to have more teeth, it turns slower than the first one but with more force
how to change direction with gears
two gears lock together.
the second moves in the opposite direction
