Q
What are some technological developments in the modern lawn mower?
A
- Polymers: Old lawnmowers had no polymers as they were only invented in the 1970s. The new mower uses polymer for the fuel tank, grass catcher and wheels.
- Recoil/electric start: Old mowers required a rope to be wound around a pulley to start the engine. Modern mowers have an ignition plug which creates a recoil/ electric start which eliminates the inconvenience of having to wind a cord around a pulley to start the engine.
