ESC: Pre Start Checks (L Shape)
- Ground PWR - As Required
- Bat MASTER sw- ON
- CPDS internal test- confirmed
- Tripple tachometer - Full deflection
- CAD - No “INP FAIL”
- Audio Tone - Low Nr, cancel via Cyc
- CPDS (CAD + VEMD) brightness
- CAD - Scroll to next page
ESC: DC System Check (I Shape)
- VEMD - Bat voltage greater than 24V
- Bus tie sw’s 1 + 2 - OFF
CAD - “Bustie OPN” sys 1 and 2
VEMD - Batt voltage = DC Voltage - Bus tie sw’s 1 + 2 - NORM + Guarded
CAD - “Bustie OPN” sys 1 and 2 OFF
Bat voltage greater than 24V DC
ESC: Fuel XFER Pumps Check (I Shape)
- SHED BUS sw - EMERG
- CAD - “SHED EMER”
- Fuel XFER pumps - ON
CAD - “F PUMP AFT” OFF
CAD - “F PUMP FWD” OFF - Fuel XFER pumps - OFF
- SHED BUS sw - NORM and guarded
- CAD - “SHED EMERG” OFF
ESC: EMRG Flotation System Check (I Shape)
- EMRG Floats sw - TEST
- CAD - “FLOATS ARM” ON
- EMRG Floats sw - OFF
- CAD - “FLOATS ARM” OFF
ESC: Fire Protection System Test (I Shape)

CAD - “FIRE EXT”

CPDS - Display self test
UMS - “CVR” + “FDR” + “HUMS” - CDS/WARN Unit - Centred
ESC: Post System Tests Cx
- Instrument Panel Cooling - Operative
- Prime Fuel Pumps 1&2 - ON
CAD - “PRIME PUMP 1” + “PRIME PUMP 2” ON
MASTER CAUTION - Cancel
CAD - “FUEL PRESS 1” + “FUEL PRESS 2” OFF - Pos Light sw - ON
- ANTI COLL - RED
- Fuel - Sufficient
- VEMD - Min 24V
- FADEC 1&2 sw - ON
TEDREO - IBF Test PB 1&2 - Press down
CAD - “SAND FILT OFF” + “SAND FILT ON”
CAD after 10-15 sec - Above messages switch colours - UMS - “CVR” + “FDR” + “HUMS” OFF
- FTR pb - Press & hold
- Cyclic - Centre using cyclic centering device
- FTR pb - Release
- Cyclic centering device - Stowed and locked
- Garmin 750
Sys start up pages - Verify
Data Base - Valid
COM freq - Set
ATIS - as required
ESC: 1st Engine Start - Cx & Patter
- Area - Check clear
- CAD - Check no T1
- FLI - TOT
- Clocks away (wait 5 sec)
- Idle on 1 or 2
- Starter engaged
- N1 rising
- Ignition by 20
- Peaking at “Max TOT”
- N2/Nr rising
- Starter released (reset master caution)
- Ts and Ps within limits
- N2/Nr needles match
- Good start on 1 or 2
- Ground idle - N2 approx 70%
- Ground power - disconnect
CAD “EXT PWR” and “EXT DOOR” OFF
ESC: HYD System Test
HYD System 1 Test
HYD sw - SYS 2 Hold
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 1 ON
Cyclic - Check operative (FTR Press)
Collective - Check operative, fully down
Pedals - Check operative
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 1 OFF
HYD SYS 2 Test
HYD sw - SYS 1 Hold
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 2 ON
Cyclic - Check operative (FTR Press)
Collective - Check operative, fully down
Pedals - Check operative, increased force req
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 2 OFF
ESC: Second Engine Start - Cx + Patter
- FLI - TOT
- Clocks away (wait 5 sec)
- Idle on 1 or 2
- Starter engaged
- N1 rising
- Ignition by 20
- Peaking at “Max TOT”
- N2 rising
- Starter released (reset master caution)
- Ts and Ps within limits
- N2/Nr needles match
- Good start on 1 or 2
- Ground idle - N2 approx 76%
