ESC: Pre Start Checks (L Shape)

A
  1. Ground PWR - As Required
  2. Bat MASTER sw- ON
  3. CPDS internal test- confirmed
  4. Tripple tachometer - Full deflection
  5. CAD - No “INP FAIL”
  6. Audio Tone - Low Nr, cancel via Cyc
  7. CPDS (CAD + VEMD) brightness
  8. CAD - Scroll to next page

ESC: DC System Check (I Shape)

A
  1. VEMD - Bat voltage greater than 24V
  2. Bus tie sw’s 1 + 2 - OFF
    CAD - “Bustie OPN” sys 1 and 2
    VEMD - Batt voltage = DC Voltage
  3. Bus tie sw’s 1 + 2 - NORM + Guarded
    CAD - “Bustie OPN” sys 1 and 2 OFF
    Bat voltage greater than 24V DC

  3. Fuel XFER pumps - ON

  5. SHED BUS sw - NORM and guarded
  6. CAD - “SHED EMERG” OFF

ESC: Post System Tests Cx

  1. Instrument Panel Cooling - Operative
  2. Prime Fuel Pumps 1&2 - ON
    CAD - “PRIME PUMP 1” + “PRIME PUMP 2” ON
    MASTER CAUTION - Cancel
    CAD - “FUEL PRESS 1” + “FUEL PRESS 2” OFF
  3. Pos Light sw - ON
  4. ANTI COLL - RED
  5. Fuel - Sufficient
  6. VEMD - Min 24V
  7. FADEC 1&2 sw - ON
    TEDREO
  8. IBF Test PB 1&2 - Press down
    CAD - “SAND FILT OFF” + “SAND FILT ON”
    CAD after 10-15 sec - Above messages switch colours
  9. UMS - “CVR” + “FDR” + “HUMS” OFF
  10. FTR pb - Press & hold
  11. Cyclic - Centre using cyclic centering device
  12. FTR pb - Release
  13. Cyclic centering device - Stowed and locked
  14. Garmin 750
    Sys start up pages - Verify
    Data Base - Valid
    COM freq - Set
    ATIS - as required

ESC: 1st Engine Start - Cx & Patter

A
  1. Area - Check clear
  2. CAD - Check no T1
  3. FLI - TOT
  • Clocks away (wait 5 sec)
  • Idle on 1 or 2
  • Starter engaged
  • N1 rising
  • Ignition by 20
  • Peaking at “Max TOT”
  • N2/Nr rising
  • Starter released (reset master caution)
  • Ts and Ps within limits
  • N2/Nr needles match
  • Good start on 1 or 2
  • Ground idle - N2 approx 70%
  1. Ground power - disconnect
    CAD “EXT PWR” and “EXT DOOR” OFF

HYD sw - SYS 2 Hold
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 1 ON
Cyclic - Check operative (FTR Press)
Collective - Check operative, fully down
Pedals - Check operative
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 1 OFF

HYD SYS 2 Test
HYD sw - SYS 1 Hold
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 2 ON
Cyclic - Check operative (FTR Press)
Collective - Check operative, fully down
Pedals - Check operative, increased force req
CAD - “HYD PRESS” sys 2 OFF

  • Clocks away (wait 5 sec)
  • Idle on 1 or 2
  • Starter engaged
  • N1 rising
  • Ignition by 20
  • Peaking at “Max TOT”
  • N2 rising
  • Starter released (reset master caution)
  • Ts and Ps within limits
  • N2/Nr needles match
  • Good start on 1 or 2
  • Ground idle - N2 approx 76%
