Q

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU):

A

A MoU is a document used where the parties wish to record an understanding rather than have an intention to create a legally binding relationship. MOUs can be contrasted with contracts, agreements and deeds, which are intended to have legal force.
Simple term = They are an agreement between two agencies. They act as a form of
Operating procedures. For example,

NSWP MoU with FaCs:
If FaCs want information about a DV relating to a childs welfare, we agree to give them the information and vice versa.
There is also an MoU between NSWP and NSW Health in regard to Mental Health patients. Allows the exchange of information and sets guidelines to how 22s are conducted.
