Energy & Atmosphere Standards Flashcards
ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007
Establishes minimum criteria for the design of energy-efficient buildings. The standard provides guidance for the following categories: building envelope, HVAC systems, service water heating, power, lighting, and other equipment.
New Construction energy performance (EAp2, EAc1)
EPA ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
A program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE) that offers energy management strategies, benchmarking tools, product guidelines and a database of ENERGY STAR qualified products and buildings
Existing Building energy performance (EAp2, EAc1)
International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol Volume III (IPMVP)
Provides a concise description of best practice techniques for verifying the energy performance of new construction projects.
Energy Performance (NC – EAc5)
ASHRAE Level I, Walk-Through Analysis
Evaluates a building’s energy performance and energy consumption by analyzing building energy bills and conducting a brief visual survey.
EB: O&M EAp1
ASHRAE Level II Audit
Detailed examination that includes a breakdown of energy distribution within the building and identifies potential capital-intensive opportunities. This is a more detailed audit than a Level I, Walk-Through Analysis
EB: O&M EAc2.1
EPA Clean Air Act, Title VI, Section 608
Established regulations on the use and recycling of ozone depleting compounds.
Refrigerant Management
Montreal Protocol
International treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances believed to be responsible for ozone
depletion
Refrigerant Management
Center for Resource Solutions Green-e Energy Certification Program
Green-e Energy is a voluntary certification and verification program for renewable energy projects. Green power purchased should be Green-e Energy
certified.
Green power; off-site renewable energy
