What is the rule of conservation of energy?
A
Energy can be transferred usefully, stored or dissipated, but it can never be created or destroyed

What happens when energy is transferred?
What eventually will happen to the energy that is wasted/not used usefully?
A
Some energy is transferred usefully, and the rest is ‘wasted’
It will transfer into the surroundings, which become warmer. It spreads out and becomes less useful as it does so

What are the equations for working out efficiency?
A
Efficiency = useful energy out / total energy in (x100%)
Efficiency = useful power out / total power in (x100%)
