Q

What are the different forms of energy?

A
Kinetic (KE) (movement energy)
Potential - GPE (lifting an object)
               - Strain/elastic (stretching)
Chemical (stored in chemical bonds)
Heat (thermal)
Light
Sound
Electrical
Nuclear (stored in nuclear bonds - released in atomic bombs/nuclear power stations)

Q

Energy change concept

A

In any energy change, you always get some undesirable energy produced (wasted energy). This is usually in the form of heat, light and/or sound. This wasted energy usually dissipates into the atmosphere.
e.g. light bulb
electrical -> light + heat
