What are Australia’s main energy sources?
Coal, oil and natural gas
What is the main problem with renewable energy?
Renewable energy is expensive
Roughly, when will oil run out?
Oil will run out in about 40 years
Roughly, when will natural gas run out?
Natural gas will run out in about 60 years.
Roughly, when will coal run out?
Coal will run out in about 250 years.
Is renewable energy as reliable as non-renewable energy?
No
What does HEP stand for?
Hydro-electric power
What are some environmental issues with non-renewable energy sources?
Coal mines cause noise and air pollution, when coal is burned it it release greenhouse gasses.
Are we dependent on renewable energy?
Yes
Why do we still use renewable energy?
We use it because it is less expensive than renewable energy and it is reliable and won’t stop producing energy.
