- it where an organism lives within another, if it is a beneficial symbiosis then the organism that lives within won’t be digested

Endosymbiosis theory
A
It is a theory that explains how eukaryotic cells appeared by prokaryotic cells being engulfed by other prokaryotic cells.
These engulfed prokaryotic became organelles such as mitochondria and chloroplasts.
The theory is based on the structure of these organelles and there are folded membranes to increase their surface area to volume ratio.
