next to the thyroid

control the use of calcium in bone growth, muscle tone, and nervous activity

base of the brain

development of reproductive organs, stimulation of mammary glands to produce milk, etc.
where is the hypothalamus located?
next to pituitary gland, bigger

connects nervous system and endocrine system
pineal gland function?
unknown, secretes melatonin and has important effects on reproductive function
where is the pineal gland located?
base of the brain, size of a pea, next to cerebellum
where is the adrenal gland located?
above the kidneys

secrets cortisol, takes effect mostly during stressful situations
where is the pancreas located?
below adrenal glands, under the small intestine
