Q

describe the principles of hormonal coordination and control by the humans endocrine systems

A

hormones are chemical messengers that cause specific responses in target organs. they are released from a gland and travel to the target organs in blood. when they reach the target organ they bind onto specific receptors for that hormone.

17
Q

explain the roles of thyroxine in the body

A

thyroxine - produced from the thyroid gland which stimulates the metabolic rate which affects growth and development.
thyroxine levels are controlled by negative feedback so when the pituitary gland detects there’s too little thyroxine it stimulates the production on TSH

18
Q

describe the role of hormones produced in the ovaries in human reproduction including the control of the menstrual cycle

A

oestrogen is produced by the ovaries and makes the lining of the uterus repair itself and grow again after menstruation. first half of the menstrual cycle.
progesterone is produced by the empty follicle in the ovary after the effect has been released. it maintains the living of the uterus during the second half of the menstrual cycle.
