A
- Inferiorly is the sphenoid sinus
- Superiorly is the optic chiasm and the hypothalamus
- Carotid arteries laterally

What are the structures closely related to the thyroid gland ?
A
- It is deep to the strap muscles
- Common carotid arteries and internal jugular are medial to thyroid
- With the thyroid wrapped around the trachea
- Inferior is the sternum and great vessels

What is the best investigation for the thyroid ?
A
US can be combined with fine needle aspiration
