Complements the nervous system in controlling the body.

What is the effect of Growth Hormones?
Increase secretion of IGF-I for bone and muscle growth
What is the effect of Adrenaline?
Increase in BP, blood glucose and bronchodilation
Why peptide hormone drugs can’t be given orally?
It can’t be given orally cause of proteolytic enzymes in the GIT.
What method of administration is the most effective for steroids?
When it is given via injection
What is the use of Oxytocin?
It is used to initiate labor, promote delivery of placenta and control post-partum hemorrhage

Androgens, Glucocosteriods, Minerolocorticoids
What are the use of Glucocosteriods?
Increase the availability of glucose, potent immunosuppressants used to prevent organ-transplant rejection and used to promote lung maturation in premature infants.
What does the Thyroid produce?
Levothyroxine (T4), Triiodothyromine (T3), Calcitonin
