End of the year science test questions Flashcards
Why are coal and oil not found all over the world.
They are not found all over the world because coal and oil need certain conditions to form and the conditions are not all over the world.
Gold is a valuable mineral found underground. It is brought closer to the surface, where it can be mined, by volcanic activity. Why do you think gold is not evenly distributed on Earth?
Because gold forms near volcanic activity volcanoes only form on plate boundaries. Plate tectonics are not all over the world.
How is the increasing population impact, land, air, and water resources?
It impacts the air by the more people means the more pollutants go in the air. It impacts land because the more people there are the more houses and stores there needs to be and if there needs to be more that means you have to cut down trees. Water because the more people there are means the more water people will use and then more people will continue to pollute it.
Why is it important to conserve natural resources
Because the worlds population is getting bigger more people need to use those natural resources so sooner or later we will not have any of those left.
Why is walking and biking helpful to the environment
Because when using cars it sometimes pollutes the air because of the exhaust. When biking or walking it dose not because you are using you body to go somewhere and there is nothing coming out of it.
Why are trees considered renewable resources?
Because when you cut down a tree you can plant a new one with the seed and then in a few years you will have a tree and usually a tree will form within a life time.
Why is it so important for sources of fresh water to be protected
Because there is less that one present of freshwater and because more people are coming on to earth it means more people need to use the water.
What effect dose farming have on the environment?
Sometimes when farmers farm it pollutes water because farmers use fertilizer to make there crops better and grow faster but then that fertilizer seeps into the ground which makes the water below intoxicated
