What patient able to hear at end of life?
A
YEs, often patient have acute hearing and able to understand and appreciate familiar voices. Encourage family and carer to stay with the patient as much as they wish

What should be discussed at end of life care?
A
1) site of care
2) Resuscitation plan (advance care)
3) Nutrition and fluids
4) Cessation of medication
5) Adequacy of analgesia

How should you manage patient’s thirst?
A
Ice chips, moistened swabs or mouth rinse. IV fluid is of little benefit and increase risk of fluid overload.
