Q

Suitability of departure alternate

A

Aircraft must be capable of maintaining MEA/MOCA, whichever is higher using OEI.
For an alternate within 30minutes flying time existing weather is equal to or better than published app minimums and forecast to remain so until 1hour after takeoff but in no case forecast to be lower than 200-1/2 (rvr 2400)
For 2hours flying time the existing weather is at least 500-1 above the lowest compatible published approach minimums, but not less than 600-2 for a precision approach or 800-2 for NPA and forecast to remain so 1 hour after ETA at alternate

Q

What are our IFR t/o mins

A

Operational- RVR 1000(300m)
With a t/o below 1600 we need rwy centerline lighting, 2 rvr sensors with min of 1000 on both
All other-1600rvr (500m)
*if no rvr it must be 1/2sm (800m) or greater
