What are the indications for Aspirin?
Angina, MI, Chest Pain
What are the Contraindications for Aspirin?
Allergies, GI Bleeding, Active Ulcer, Hemorrhagic Stroke, and peds
What is the dosage for Aspirin?
1 tablet @ 325mg or 4 tablets at 81mg/
What are side effects of Aspirin?
Palpitations, Anxiety, dry mouth, upset stomach, heartburn, drowsiness, and/or mild headache
What are indications for Epinephrin
Anaphylaxis or severe asthma
What are contraindications for Epinephrin?
none when used for true anaphylaxis
What are the dosages for Epinephrin? (adults / pediatric)
Adult: 0.3mg SQ or IM
Pediatric: 0.15mg/kg SQ or IM
What are the side effects of Epinephrin?
Tachycardia, Headache, hypertension, palpitations, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and tremors
What are indications for Glucagon?
Hypoglycemia
What are contraindications for Glucagon?
Allergies, Insulinoma, Patients w/ known pheochromocytoma (pancreatic tumor that secretes insulin)
What are dosages of Glucagon? (Adult & pediatrics)
Adults: 1mg IM
Pediatric: 0.5mg IM for patients under 12 yrs old
What are side effects of Glucagon?
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and/or rebound hyperglycemia
What are indications for Oral Glucose?
Hypoglycemia
What are contraindications for Oral Glucose?
Allergies, Patient unable to swallow or protect airway
What are dosages for Oral Glucose? (Adult / pediatrics)
Adults: 15g PO (by mouth)
Child: 10g PO (less than 5yrs old)
