Check bm 5-10 min > 5millimoles per litre
Clinical decision of route admin
Ineffective if glycogen stores exhausted
Newborn babies have v. Low glycogen
Can be ineffective in some alcohol induced hypoglycaemia try 10%
If fitted 10% preferable
