a group of people who have to make and enforce laws for a country or area within the country
roles of the Government
they create a public policy and ensure policies r followed

1.The departments that have the most direct role in the economy are the Department of Finance and the Department of Trade and Industry
2.the national government has many different departments, all leading with important aspects of the country’s growth

The Deputy President and the Ministers who make up the Executive branch of the National Government
Ministers: Members of the Parliament who are given authority from the President to perform certain functions at the government
The Legislative
Parliament is the Legislative branch and has the power to make laws
Parliament is situated in CPT
Parliament is situated in CPT and consists of two ‘houses’
- The National Assembly: has 400 members who represent different political parties and are elected every five years in a national election
- The National Council of Provinces: a body created to make sure that all the provinces are involved or co-operate in Legislative process
