- when responding to a survey about employment, people lie about state of employment to earn unemployment benefits

A
- result of changes in goods or services
- new tech takes over jobs in order to increase productivity

A
- downturn in the economy
- people save rather than spend with the fear of loosing job
- people aren’t buying things so jobs lost as less products need to be made

- jobs change yearly due to change in seasons
- fruit picking, sheep shearing, ski field jobs

A
- when people are unemployed between finishing one job & starting another

long term unemployment
A
- refers to people who have been unemployed for 52 consecutive weeks or longer

youth unemployment
A
- young people more likely to be unemployed
- 2-2.5 times more likely to be unemployed compared with adults
- unemployment rate is about 9.6% or double
