Gives the employees a greater range of work to do at the same level.

Gives diners more challenging work, and the training they need to o do it. It gives employees more responsibility for organising their work and solving problems:
Job rotation
Is where workers are occasionally moved from one task to another. It’s often used where a job involves very repetitive tasks, such as on a production line. Job rotation means that workers become multi-skilled in a range of different tasks and have some variety in their job.
Empowerment
Gives people control over their work and a greater role in deciding making.
Consultation
Consultation between managers and employees shows employees that there opinions are important and valued.
Delegation
Gives employees more responsibility for decision making.
Team working
Puts workers into small teams and nets then organise their own work.
Flexible working
Can allow employees to work whilst still having time for personal roles, such as being a student.
Commission
Commission is money paid to workers for completing tasks, which is often a bonus on top of their salary. Earning a commission can increase motivation and performance of sales staff. However, it can also lead to overselling, and customers can feel like they are overwhelmed by staff whenever they enter the store. The business also doesn’t know how much its labour costs will be each month.
Bonus scheme
Bonus schemes mean that workers are paid extra on top of their salary once an agreed target has been met .
