A

Yes, feelign angry is normal but it is how you respond to your angry feelings that matters. When you feel angry it is important to find a way to calm down - by distracting yourself (like reading a book) or going to a quiet space, or telling an adult how you feel.

Q

How should a person respond to bullying?

A
  • It is best to act brave, walk away and avoid or ignore the bully.
  • Have a buddy system. Walk around with a friend who will support you.
  • Stand up for yourself. Be assertive - stand up for your own rights - and tell the bully to STOP it so you don’t appear to be weak .
Assertive people feel confident enough to take risks, make mistakes and learn from them.
  • Don’t believe what people say when they say nasty things.
  • Listen to what they say but don’t fight back. Be calm.
  • Tell an adult what happened so they can support you in responding.
