What is James-Lange Theory?
- Physiological reactions (Autonomic Nervous System) help label a specific emotion (Cerebral Cortex)
“I’m afraid because I’m shaking”
What is the Cannon-Bard Theory?
- Thalamus makes emotion (Cerebral Cortex) and physiological responses (Autonomic Nervous System) act out simultaneously
“I’m shaking and afraid”
What is Schacter-Singer Theory?
- Physiological reactions help label a specific emotion with the help of it’s context
“Dog is dangerous, I am afraid”
What is the Lazarus Model Theory?
- Identifying whether something is a threat or not will then make out whether you will have your physiological (Autonomic Nervous System) and emotional (Cerebral Cortex) response
“Is the dog dangerous in this situation? Yes. I’m afraid. No. I’m not afraid.”
Does venting and talking out one’s feelings of anger increase or decrease anger?
