Emergency Proceedures Flashcards
When JFS is running and an emergency condition develops:
STARTER switch - OFF
If JFS does not shutdown with STARTER switch
or
If AMAD FIRE/PUSH light comes on:
AMAD FIRE/PUSH -lift guard and PUSH
DISCHARGE switch - DISCHARGE (hold until JFS Ready Light goes out)
If JFS does not shut down after actuating fire extinguisher:
Using short bursts, discharge CO2, Halon, or CB fire extinguisher into JFS inlet while facing aft
If left or right Engine is cranking and an emergency develops:
L/R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF
STARTER switch - OFF
If left or right Engine is cranking, and fire is detected in engine compartment:
L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH light - lift guard and PUSH DISCHARGE switch - DISCHARGE L/R Throttle - OFF L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF STARTER switch - OFF
For fire in engine compartment; noted by ground observer or steady red ENG light:
L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH light - lift guard and PUSH DISCHARGE switch - DISCHARGE L/R Throttle - OFF L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF STARTER switch - OFF
If left or right engine is running and AMAD FIRE/PUSH light and/or either L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH light comes on:
AMAD FIRE or L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH DISCHARGE switch - DISCHARGE until JFS ready light goes out) L/R Throttle - OFF L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF STARTER switch - OFF
If left or right engine is running at MAX power and either L/R BURN THRU light comes on:
L/R Throttle - MIL
IF BURN THRU light does not go off:
L/R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF
If EGT rapidly rises through 750°C w NC RPM less than 40%:
This is a Hot Start.
L\R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENGINE FIRE lights - lift guard and PUSH
Continue to Motor engine w JFS until EGT IS 200°C or JFS engagement time reaches 150 seconds. If unable to motor engine, ensure NF and NC rotors turn freely before attempting to restart.
If NC RPM reaches 50%-60% then decreases while EGT is stable or increasing:
L/R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH lights - lift guard and PUSH
Ensure NF and NC rotors turn freely prior to restart.
Internal Engine fire after shutdown:
Reverify throttles are OFF L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH lights - lift guard and PUSH L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF STARTER switch - ON When NC RPM is 40% or less: JFS Handle - PULL L/R ENG MASTER - ON When NC RPM is 34% or less; Finger lift - LIFT
Dry motor engine until fire is out or JFS engagement time reaches 150 seconds
Engine shutdown without cooldown period:
Let Engine cool down😐
For no engine shutdown with throttle or Auto Acceleration:
L/R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENGINE FIRE/PUSH light - lift guard and PUSH
L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF
If EGT is above 500°C, let engine cooldown and ensure rotors turn freely prior to engine start
Overpressurization, Smoke or Fumes in cockpit:
EMERG VENT control handle - turn 45° CCW and PULL
TEMP switch - OFF
AIR SOURCE switch - OFF
If cabin remains pressurized:
Throttles - OFF
Allow cabin to depressurize
CANOPY CONTROL handle - UP
L/R BLEED AIR CAUTION LIGHT:
L/R Throttle - OFF
L/R ENG MASTER switch - OFF
STARTER switch - OFF
