Tach failure

A

If one tach fails use other to monitor RPM.
If not clear which tach has failed or both fail allow governor to control RPM.
Land as soon as practical.

Governor failure

A

Grip throttle firmly to override then switch off

Complete flight using manual throttle control.

Oil light

A

= low oil pressure.
Check engine tach for power loss.
Check oil pressure gauge; if lost pressure:
Land Immediately

Minimum in flight = 55 psi

Continued flight without oil pressure will cause serious engine damage and engine failure may occur

A

A

One gallon of fuel left.
5 minutes of flight

Clutch Light

A

If light flickers or is on more than 10 seconds:
Pull clutch circuit breaker and land as soon as practical.
If have other signs of drive system failure reduce power and Land Immdiately; be prepared to enter autorotation.
Inspect drive system for a possible malfunction.
Never takeoff before light goes out.

ALT Light

A

Indicates low voltage and possible alternator failure
Turn off non-essential electrical equipment.
Turn ALT off then back on after 1 second: reset over voltage relay.
If light stays on land as soon as practical.
Can lose electronic tach if continue flight

Starter-On light

A

If light is not out after ignition switch is released from Start position, immediately pull mixture and turn Master off.
Have starter motor serviced.

A

Low RPM Horn & Caution Light

A

Simultaneously roll on throttle and lower collective.

Horn and light disabled when collective is full down.

AUX Fuel Pump

A

Indicates low auxiliary fuel pump pressure. If no other indication of a problem, land as soon as practical. If accompanied by erratic engine operation, land immediately.

Fuel Filter

A

Indicates fuel strainer contamination. If no other indication of a problem, land as soon as practical. If accompanied by AUX Fuel pump warning or erratic engine operation, land immediately.

Full Throttle

A

Governor will be ineffective and cannot increase throttle to maintain RPM. Lower collective as required to extinguish light.
