Emergency Procedures Flashcards
Engine Flame out
Autorotation Procedure:
Collective — Reduce NR green
IAS — Vy
If relighting impossible/after tail rotor:
Twist grip — idle detent
At height ~ 70’
Cyclic flare
20/25 ft
Collective pitch — Gradually increase
Cyclic — Forward to slightly nose up landing
Pedal — Adjust for trim
Collective pitch — increase to cushion landing
After touch-down
Cyclic, collective, pedal — Adjust to control ground run
On aircraft stopped
Collective — Down
Rotor brake — apply
In Flight Relighting
Starting selector — Off
Fuel pump — On
Starting selector — On
After relighting
Fuel P — Off
Engine Flame Out — IGE
Collective — Maintain
Pedals — Yaw
Collective — Increase to cushion landing
Engine Flame Out — OGE
Collective pitch — Full down
Cyclic — forward to regain airspeed
Autorotation
Tail rotor failure — IGE
Land immediately
Twist Grip — Idle
Collective — increase to cushion landing
Tail Rotor Failure — OGE
Collective — Reduce
Cyclic — Forward to gain speed
Cyclic — Adjust IAS to Vy
Land as soon as possible
Tail Rotor Failure — Cruise
Cyclic — Adjust IAS TO Vy
Collective — Reduce to control sideslip
Land as soon as possible
Smoke in cockpit — source not IDd
Hearing/Demisting — Off
Smoke clears:
Continue Flight
Smoke does not clear: Master Sw / Emer SW — Shut off Direct Batt — Off Ext Pwr — Off Gene — Off Avionics — Off Ventilate the Cabin All consumers — Off Master Sw — On Ext Pwr — On Dir Bat — On Gene — On
If DC parameter correct / no smoke detected
Avionics — On
All consumers — On
If DC parameters is not correct
Gene — Off
Unnecessary equip — Off
Land as soon as practicable
Smoke in cockpit — source identified
Corresponding system — Off
Ventilate the cabin
Continue flight depending on system failed
VEMD Screen Failure — 1 screen
Failed screen — Off
VEMD Screen Failure — both screen
Avoid power overlimit, maximum power to establish level flight
IAS = 100 kts - (2 KTS / 1000 ft)
Land as soon as practicable / no hover landing
Abnormal NR indication
Collective — maintain TRQ > 10%
NR reading is given by Nf pointer
Abnormal Nf indication
NR Guage — CHECK in green /w
TRQ > 0
Engine Oil Temp > 115°C
Airspeed — 80 KTS
TEMP Reduces
Land as soon as practicable
TEMP does not reduce
Land as soon as possible
Check cooler fan operation
Low Engine Oil Press
Check ENG P
If lit
Land Immediately
If not lit
CWP Test
If working,
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
If not working, LAND IMMEDIATELY Auto rotation / Shutdown engine
Loss of NG Indicator
Respect
maximum TRQ
T4 < 810°C
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
Loss of TRQ Indicator
Respect the Ng on Table
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
Loss of NG and TRQ indications
GOV warning can also cause loss of NG/TRQ
Comply with Ng Limit Table
Substitute Delta -4 with 810*C
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
